Since i've started to make jewelry i've had this issue of "how do I transport my jewelry and not have it end up into a giant ball when I get to where I need to go?". Until It just hit me in the face one day as I was strolling the plastic container section at my local dollar store. I got one of the plastic shoe boxes, one 2-pack of ice cube trays, and one 3-section plastic container. And ta-da! for $3 I now have a perfect jewelry storage system for when I travel to shows!
each pair of earrings/rings/necklaces has a home to call it's own!
Hi my name is Karina, and I'm a bit of a control freak... I like things to have order and structure. I like to plan (I am usually packed and ready to go a week ahead when we are getting ready for a trip), and I like to make lists of everything. I am constantly trying to find ways of making planning easier as well as sharing those plans with my husband (sometimes having them posted on the fridge doesn't work). So while I was going through apps on my phone I came across this app called Cozi, and it's amazing! I don't know how I've lived without it! You sign up, and it's totally free! You can add as many family members to the account as you want and you can share your personal or family calendar with them, share to-do lists, grocery lists, your family journal, and even the diner schedule! And the best part is that you can send them all these things to their phone in a text reminder or through email, they could even call in and listen to the things scheduled to them. You can use the app on your phone to access Cozi or use your computer! You can easily color code each family members appointments and events on your calendar and then print your calender! So if you are a control freak like me you should really give Cozi a try, so far I am loving it! Here's the link and a video for Cozi. Happy scheduling!!
I bought a cork/magnetic white board several months back and it had just been sitting there in the kitchen on the floor, just waiting for me to find it a home on my wall. Well I found a frame that worked and painted it white and hot glued him in! The frame opening was slightly too small but I wasn't going to go out and buy a frame just for it, and I didn't really want to cut my white board. So instead I embraced the fact that there was just going to be a ledge and I use that space to put the dry-erase marker and the pencil! It works perfect in the slightly awkward wall space by the back door that leads into the laundry room! I added some white cup hooks under it and now all our keys are easily accessible! It came with some plain and kind of ugly magnets so I attached a flower to them and put a rhinestone in the center of each of them. So now they're pretty not pretty ugly!
In my attempt to organize myself better, and to cut down on the eating out, I made a weekly meal planner. I found a template I liked on MS Word and edited it to how I wanted it. Since dinner is the only meal that we are both together for I decided to delete breakfast and lunch. And with the empty space on the page I went through each recipe and wrote down all the ingredients on a sticky pad and stuck it next to its corresponding day. That way if I don't have something I can just un-stick the list and head off to the store!
